The last few weeks have been like a whirl wind!
To start off with, I began my new job on May 12th. Leaving Lakeshore was a sad day but the girls had a going away pizza party for me and got me a gift which was very sweet.
So far I really like my new job at Candyrific. There has been a lot to learn and I usually stay pretty busy. There are days when I look at the clock and think 'wow! it's 5 o'clock already!' Gotta love that. My manager is super cool and very genuine. There is only one other person in our office and she and I get along very well. Even though it's a small office, the company itself seems to be growing fast.
I'm still doing payroll for Russ' work although that has started to slow down some. It's been tapering off since Derby which was the first Saturday of May. The next weekend was Mother's Day so my brother and I took my mom to a movie and then dinner. There was about 30 min left of 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' when the screen went blank and the fire alarms started going off. Everyone headed outside and waited around till the fire department came and checked things out. Minutes later, one of the managers allowed people to go back into the theaters. We took our seats and got situated again. A theater worker came in to apologize for the interruption and said that someone wasn't being a very good parent and their child had pulled the alarm. I'm sure whoever that parent was they were pretty embarrassed. At least we got to finish watching the movie.
The weekend after that was a bachelorette party. (The couple getting married, Andrea and Jeremy, are the one's who hired me for the photography of the wedding.) We turned it into a full day affair. It began with a day at the spa where we got mani's and pedi's and a couple people got massages. Then we grabbed some dinner and went out for drinks later that night. It was a fun day, just very long. :)
Naturally, the following weekend was the wedding. I went to the rehearsal dinner Friday to meet both families since there were a lot of people from out of town. Saturday was the big event and the ceremony was at 7pm, so that was a late night too. The next day was Cheyenne's 3rd birthday party. I was one of the only ones there with no kids but I wasn't about to miss my Chey's party! Amy and Wes rented an inflatable birthday cake that you could jump in, the kids loved it. After everybody left me, Amy and Wes got in the cake and jumped with Cheyenne. she was having so much fun in there she wouldn't get out. Finally Amy pulled her out at around 11pm to put her to bed. She called me the next morning and said Chey was outside jumping already and had been since 8am. Needless to say she threw a fit when the rental company came to take it down.
All last week I had to finish packing up the apartment so I could be moved by the end of the month. With all that has been going on I never did find another place to live. The places I would call either the rent was too high, or they didn't allow pets. So, I did what I absolutely did not want to do...moved back home. There's good and bad to this situation. I will at least be able to save some money, well, pay off some bills more likely. But it's cramped. Over the years I've accumulated a fair amount of stuff and while most of it went in storage, I have to keep the rest handy. Which means figuring out where to put it. *sigh*
Just thinking about it makes me tired. Oh right...and my bed is in storage.
