my poor car

About a year and a half ago I asked my brother, a mechanic, to look at the sunroof on my car because it had stopped working. His best guess at the time was that either the motor had stopped or there was something in the track blocking it from opening. According to him it should be pretty simple to fix as long as he brought the right tools home from work.

The necessary tools never made contact with my car so it has remained unfixed all this time.

Fast forward to two weeks ago when I noticed a strong, musty smell in my car. Upon another inspection of my car, my brother says "Oh yeah, you have a leak somewhere. Probably your sunroof." Hmmm........really. Well, since my sunroof hasn't been working it obviously doesn't seal properly. Therefore the water has been seeping in and running down the side, onto the passenger side floorboard, under the mat. With the heat we've had you can imagine how bad it smelled. So at the moment I have strips of black electrical tape to seal my sunroof. It's supposed to be temporary until the new part comes in. There was one highlight in my trip to my brother's work. A truck was brought in to get new tires and here is what it looked like, no kidding...Take a closer look above the pipes, yes, those are flashlights.
And take note of the rockin' fishing pole antennae. The funniest part of it all was that the owner of this truck drove from the other side of town to get the new tires. Why put new tires on it?
